My son is a Junior at the University of Alabama. Surely you have seen the news coverage of the devastation that has hit their home town of Tuscaloosa, Alabama as well as many other cities throughout the South. The thought of Cause Marketing and its benefits for helping worthwhile causes has never hit so close to home for me.

Chipotle Mexican Grill masterfully combines a solid product with a variety of cause marketing activation methods to showcase its deep commitment to the sustainable farming movement.  My guess is that this authentic and integrated approach to cause marketing has had more than a little something to do with the fact that the brand is now 1,000+ restaurants strong.

Employee engagement proves to be a leading indicator of financial performance-WOW! Now, that's a statement and a great blog post title. But, it also made me somewhat uncomfortable to be so bold without a little research to back me up. As cause marketers, we "know" that engaged employees are generally more productive, often more customer-focused and tend to go the extra mile, but where's the proof.
